The Cheeky Cherub Café is nestled on the corner of a row of shops in a small town called Glengormley in County Antrim. It is a delightful gem that perfectly combines a warm atmosphere with a playful floral vibe. My friend and I headed out for our weekly catch up and coffee, where we decided to choose the Cheeky Cherub after hearing great reviews as it was finally our turn to check it out! 

Coffee

As I stepped into the café my senses were enveloped with the rich aroma of freshly ground coffee beans simmering from the machine. The rippling sound of coffee grinders captured my attention, creating a comforting symphony. To my delight, I was welcomed to my seat upstairs by the lovely staff, where the menu awaited, which showcased an impressive selection of beverages. The variety was outstanding, with the café offering milkshakes, smoothies and an array of both hot and cold coffee options. 

Given the misty autumn day outside, I opted for a caramel latte, perfectly suited for savouring a warm drink on a cold breezy day. It was the perfect balance of expertly crafted sweetness and creamy froth.

As I sipped my coffee, I couldn't help but admire the array of fresh cakes and bakes lining the countertops. I selected a slice of the raspberry and white chocolate cake, which was the ideal complementary sweet treat to my coffee. It flourished my taste buds with every bite.

Environment

The Cheeky Cherub is known for its whimsical touches and at first glance, the most attracting sight of the café was the use of vibrant pink colours and mix of floral arrangements. From the wallpaper and menus to the table decorations and plants, every detail added to its charm. The walls lined with that eye-catching floral paper shown in the photos above, complemented by quirky artwork hung, created a cosy earthy environment, inviting a feminine vibe throughout the café. The unique decor was the standout feature of my visit, and it will be fondly remembered when I share my experience with others about the Cheeky Cherub. 

The café is very accessible, featuring a car park alongside the building and a two-level layout, ensuring it is easy for anyone to access. The combination of soft music playing and laughter radiating from other customers provided a homely feel. 

Service

Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by the staff, who were eager to make my visit memorable. Their faces lit with smiles as they gracefully guided me to my seat, showcasing a genuine passion for their job. I appreciated the attentiveness carried towards us as the staff member took their time to personalise my order, despite it being a set menu; I felt a little awkward asking, but rest assured I was made to feel completely at ease. The team moved efficiently, offering thoughtful recommendations whilst consistently checking in, even when the cafe was busy. Their kindness and friendly demeanour created the top quality deliverance of service to my visit. 

Finally, whether you decide to stop by for a quick coffee or leisurely catch up with friends, the Cheeky Cherub café promises a delightful experience acting as a community hub to keep you coming back for more, it truly was a sip to savour!
